On December 2-4th, our laboratory participated in the Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics’ (FAST) annual Translational Research Symposium (TRS) and Biomarkers and Outcomes Meeting (ABOM).
Here, my postdoc Dr. Liz Berg gave a talk entitled “Therapeutic advantages of preclinical research using the rat model of Angelman Syndrome
Postdoc Nycole Copping gave a talk entitled “Abnormal electrophysiological phenotypes and sleep deficits in a mouse model of Angelman syndrome”
Pre-doctoral students Anna Adhikari and Timothy Fenton, from PTX, also gave talks. Anna’s was “Prevention and Reversal of Angelamn Syndrome Phenotypes by Systemic Delivery of Ube3a via the Hemopoietic System” split with Dr. Joe Anderson and Tim’s was “Lovastatin improves numerous gait metrics in an Angelman Syndrome mouse model”, which is currently being prepared for publication.
This meeting raised over 4 million dollars for AS research, highlighted our UC Davis MIND AS Infrastructure program and Dr. David Segal was awarded an Angelman Syndrome Researcher Accelerator Award
